About US

Sig Plach Couturier opened the doors of Edmonton's first fashion house for women in 1962.  Sig Plach was a fashion guru in Edmonton, and had an outstanding impact on the Edmonton fashion scene.  He was a mentor to up and coming fashion designers and lectured at NAIT, the University of Alberta and high schools around the city.  Over the decades, Sig Plach Couturier & Fabrics has served Edmonton as a couturier, and a retailer of high end European fabrics.

Sig Plach became ill in 1998 and passed away quietly in 2002.  The business is now carried on by his son David Plach, who has continued his father's dedication to customer service and quality fabrics.  Sig Plach Couturier & Fabrics is your one stop shopping centre for unique fabrics, bridal accessories, notions, buttons and one of a kind couture designs.

Couture designs at Sig Plach Couturier & Fabrics are now performed  by Kathleen Todoruk BSc. HEc. of Todoruk Designs.  After more  than 15 years as friends and professionals, she continues her mentor's tradition in haute couture.
